Hey guys this is Daniel Gil. I’m a professional ninja athlete and a five time national finalist on American Ninja Warrior.
I was born and raised in Houston, Texas. I have always been a fun-loving adventurer. I’m the second oldest in a family of five kids who were all home-schooled. As a kid I loved playing outside, climbing trees and participating in team sports. In high school, I began to focus my attention on new passions such as singing, dancing, and the performing arts. During that time, I also began leading worship at my home church, Dwelling Place Church. I continued my physical training as well, by working out daily on my Bowflex and practicing Parkour.
After high school, I attended All Nations School of Ministry and obtained a degree in Applied Ministerial Studies. In 2013 I began working at Iron Sports Gym with Sam Sann, where I am now the director of the homeschool program and where I train for American Ninja Warrior. 2015 was my rookie year competing on Season 7 of American Ninja Warrior where I made it to the National Finals in Las Vegas. I was also selected to compete in the American Ninja Warrior All-Stars Special, and was chosen to be a team captain on Season 1-3 of Team Ninja Warrior. I have also competed internationally with Team USA in American Ninja Warrior Indonesia.
This recognition and success has presented me with new opportunities to begin traveling and motivational speaking. In 2016, I competed on Season 8 of American Ninja Warrior and was one of only two competitors to beat Stage 2 in the National Finals. I am one of a few competitors who beat the Mega Wall both years in a row. Currently, I am traveling, speaking, and training for Season 11 of American Ninja Warrior.
